Sunaina Roshan talks about……: )

Soul Curry
I can smile through pain

Sunaina Roshan talks about her battle with cancer, a bad marriage and her brother Hrithik, who has seen her through it all

TIMES NEWS NETWORK:
WHEN Im asked what keeps me smiling, I say, I am a tough girl, I am a fighter. Time is the best healer. Today, I am going through the happiest phase in my life. My family is what matters the most. I married at the age of 20. I was young and nave , and for eight years, I tried hard to save my marriage but even God couldnt have saved it.
I walked out of it due to irreconcilable differences with my husband and came back to my parents, hoping to get over the failed marriage but what followed were a series of illnesses. I weighed 103 kg as I ate everything in sight to cope with depression.
I lost 45 kg but was soon infected by tuberculosis meningitis. I was in semi-coma for two days and doctors werent sure of my recovery. I was hospitalised for almost a month. When I got out, I immersed myself in work. When all seemed well, I had to face another major setback. I was assisting Dad (Rakesh Roshan) on Krazzy 4 when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer . I went through six sessions of chemotherapy in six months.
Duggu (Hrithik) ensured that I got the best treatment. I considered my hair my biggest asset but had to shave it due to chemo. I learnt to let go. I would wake up, wear lipstick, get ready and look forward to the session.
My next blow was the worst. My 13-year-old daughter told me that she wanted to live with her father. My illnesses left me with little time for us to be together and that is my biggest regret. Her happiness meant the world to me and I let her go. I was shattered and at my all-time low.
Hrithik would come to me and say, Didi, this is not you. You are a fighter . Get up. My dad told me, Tough times dont last, but tough people do. There used to be a time when I wouldnt shed a tear no matter how sad I would be. Today, I cry even when I am happy. I cry when I see my family, Hrithik, Suzanne loving me endlessly. I am back on the film sets with my brother and father . I sit in the hot sun without an umbrella for hours and realise the value of money much more than I used to. Ill be 38 years old next week. I have been battling with life since I was 20. I felt God was unkind to me but not anymore. Whatever has to happen will happen. Looking back, I thank God for even giving me those illnesses as they only made me stronger. My perception of pain has changed. Today, I can get surgery done all by myself. I have three permanent tattoos on my body. When someone asks me if that hurts, I just smile. Every setback has made me a better person, taught me to face life with confidence. I am a follower of Amma Bhagwaan in Chennai, who has given me the peace that I needed. My hair is growing back. Those who dont know me may think I am a rich brat but I want to tell them, Hrithik, Suzanne and my parents have spoilt me, not with comforts, but with love. Hrithik tells me, Didi, you deserve to be happy.

Remember to pause, don’t rush through life!

Sister Shivani, from the Brahmakumari practice, draws from her connect with God. She explains, “For me, spirituality is not a search for God, it’s when the relationship has begun. Spirituality is charging of the battery (soul), but for that I need to be connected to the Power House — God.”

As one evolves spiritually, it leads to an understanding that you already have within you what you seek from others — love, happiness, peace. Says Shivani, “You are then free to act and interact without any ‘agenda’ and to be yourself. You will be at peace with yourself because there is no longer any conflict between the many identities that you had previously created—gender/nationality/profession/possessions, etc. You will contain the world instead of it containing you.” Emotional literacy helps us realise that the cause of our feelings is not external events but the self.

How does one achieve a more spiritual self? Remember to pause, don’t rush through life! Experts recommend meditation and learning to make more intelligent choices, an ability to disengage from the world outside and your own thoughts for a deeper understanding of oneself, taking 10 minutes daily for self-introspection. It’s ultimately all about the self!

Mata Shabri was a very beautiful queen in her previous birth ……but because of her Royal background she was not allowed to spend time with saints and sadhus……

Jawahar Baba said in satsang about Mata Shabri whom Bhagwan Shri Ram visited ………….Shabri was a very beautiful queen in her previous birth ……but because of her Royal background she was not allowed to spend time with saints and sadhus……which she desperately seeked………once she prayed very intensely one day and God appeared and asked her for a wish……what she wished is……that she should be born in very low caste…….that she should be very ugly………BUT SHE SHOULD GET THE COMPANY OF TRUE SAINTS……….so thats what she got and therefore got the REAL WEALTH OF ENLIGHTENMENT : )

There was a disciple of Guru Goraknath. He was very good looking at the same time he was very good yogi….

Jawahar Baba said in satsang : “There was a disciple of Guru Goraknath. He was very good looking at the same time he was very good yogi….he got very famous because of his good satsangs and his sadhna. Once the Queen of that state came to see him and fell in love with his good looks……she asked him to have sex with her………but he refused at all cost…………so the queen went to the King and complained that this fellow tried to harasss her physically……..the king got enraged and went to that disciple and cut his hands and legs…………….after two days guru goraknath came and saw him lying on the floor with eyes closed and a smile on his face……he asked him as to who did this……..he will be punished severely…….at this the disciple said there is no need to do anything…..i am perfectly in BLISS IN GOD : )

Follow Guru (God : )

There is both peace and war available just like there is both land and water. Guru maharaj says why do you go in water first and then you say that you are drowning, you dont you stand on the land?. When there is peace why do you go after restlessles?. Don’t follow your mind (mun in hindi), it will take you to hell. Follow your Guru Maharaj , he will take you to peace.

LOVE IS GOD : ) BUT LUST IS DEVIL : (

Nature has made the sex impulse very strong so that the creation might go on. And, ignorant people are attracted mostly by pleasing appearance, they look for their soul mate in a graveyard of beautiful, nicely dressed forms, unmindful that a devil may be housed within. The attraction should be on the basis of soul and not lust.

Every man who looks upon woman as an object of lust, and who abuses woman to satisfy his lust, commits self destruction. Continued sex abuse impairs the nervous system and affects the heart, eventually destroying peace and happiness. Mankind must realize that the basic nature of the soul is spiritual.

The abuse of sex is compared to running a car without oil, the body cannot stand it. Each drop of vital essence is equivalent to the loss of eight drops of blood.  One can achieve self control in this regard not by forced effort but only through purification of the mind.

Man and woman should look upon one another as reflections of the Divine. For a man, he should in his eyes see a woman as an expression of the divine mother. It is the divine mother, man should see speaking to him through woman.

Krishna played on Radha’s vanity. He said ” lets steal some moments alone” , Radha thought he wanted to be alone with her. They both walked in dense jungle, Radha got tired and asked to take a rest. At this Krishna said ” Do you want me to carry you?” This very much pleased Radha’s vanity, but even as she sprang to his back, lo! Krishna was gone; she fell in a heap on the ground. Her pride was shattered, she cried on her knees.

It was a grievous error to look upon master as an ordinary man, to be ensnared and controlled by feminine wiles. She realized that the Master was interested not in her form but in her soul.

“Bujhe na kaam agni tulsi kahu vishay bhog bahu ghee te” [The fire of  sexual desires cannot be extinguished through the clarified butter of more sex]. The truth is “Jimi prati laabh, lobh adhikai” [ More the profit, more is the greed]. Therefore getting the clarified butter of sex, the desire for sex only intensifies.

We get attracted towards somebody’s beautiful body and face. But if we start thinking what does it contain? The whole body is more or less full of ugly red muscles. And a smiling face is, itself a display of bones. The body is made up of bones, covered with muscles and blood. ALso, inside the body there are death, ego and hatred hidden.

Just like a big  bunglow looks divine and beautiful, but if we remove the cement-plaster from above, we will just find not so good looking  sand, stones, mud etc. Similarly, the human body also looks beautiful, silky and good to look at from outside but it contains blood, muscles, semen, spit, bones, urine, sweat, fat, tears, nose’s fillings and other dirty things, which we would not like to see.

All saints says there is no peace and happiness in sex. Even if you may have  got little happiness out of  sex , but it must have been just like you got  good fragrance from a rose flower but very soon the thorns of the rose flower made you unhappy. Therefore, if you want peace and happiness, get away from all illusions and move on the path of God : )

Note: For the above article i  have used words from the books of two saints namely Sri Sri Paramhansa Yogananda and  Sadhguru Maharshi Santsevi Paramhansa Ji Maharaj : )

There are no roses on the lips : )

An emperor was in love (lust) with a beautiful girl, but she use to love (lust) for a young boy. When the emperor asked her for sleeping with her, she insulted him immediately. The emperor went away and asked his psychiatrist as to how should i punish the girl and his lover. The psychiatrist suggested a strange punishment, according to his suggestion, the two lovers were striped of their clothes and tied together as if they are in the sexual act, at these the two lovers got surprised and enjoyed a lot, coz this is what they wanted, but as one day passed, the lips of the girl was no longer compared to rose by the boy, it started stinking with her mouth’s foul smell, and as one more day passed, they were full of filth of stool and urine. They started hating each other more than anyone. When they were released, they ran off from each other and never had any good feelings towards each other. So such is the result of lust : ( People get into sexual acts on an average of 4000 times in one’s lifetime, all because they always fail to learn from their own  mistakes.

GOD PROVIDES FOOD FOR ALL : )

A friend of mine ,  did a good research on the availability of food for eveyone. When he asked a person as to why are you working so hard?, he replied, he is working for food. At this my friend said, but you will get food, even if you dont work. The person asked how. My friend replied, have you done any crime like murder, theft etc.? The man said no. My friend said so you are very good person compared to many criminals, still the criminals get their food on time.(http://casualblogs.wordpress.com/category/daal-roti-for-dinner-and-don-as-neighbour-in-jail/)(http://casualblogs.wordpress.com/category/in-jail-haldiram-boss-to-earn-rs-21-a-day-as-gardener/) So, why do you think , if you dont work , you will not get food?. That man realised his mistake.

Similarly, we all give the excuse that we are doing everything so restlessly, because if we dont, we will not get food. But, the fact is God is your security with regards to the availability of food for you.

A saying by a Sant maluk das ji goes like this ‘ Ajgar kare na chakri, panchi kare na kaam, Daas maluka keh gaye sab ke daata raam’. (A python isn’t servant to anyone, nor do birds go for a job, yet God provides them all). God Even provides food for the insects hiding beneath stones.

Maluk das ji has not said this statement , just like that, he did a full experiment. He decided to first test God on this statement. He went into a deep jungle, so that nobody can find him, and therefore how will God be able to feed him. He sat on a tree. After sometimes he found a villager crossing the jungle has put down the food he was carrying , as his village was near and he decided not to carry the load of food further. At this Maluk Das ji thought that although God has brought food , so close to him, but he wont have it. So he stayed on the tree. After sometime a group of robbers came and found that food. Their leader thought it must be the plan of the villagers to kill him, as the food may be poisoned. He asked his fellow men to search for any man in and around. And one of them pointed towards maluk das on the tree. The leader asked maluk to come down and eat the food. Maluk das climbed down the tree but said he wont eat the food as he is taking God’s test. At this the leader slapped maluk and made him eat the whole food immediately . They, all left  after feeding him. Now, maluk das realised that God is very particular about providing food for all , just like a mother makes sure that her children takes food on time.

Thats why Maluk Das gave the statement ‘ Ajgar kare na chakri, panchi kare na kaam, Daas manuka keh gaye sab ke daata raam’.

This does not mean one should leave one’s job and test God. As, our job is also provided by God and it serves some important purpose in this drama set by God. But, we should definately leave the burden that our work is providing us food. And, we should work joyfully instead of worrying and fearing that if we loose our job we wont get food. And, i feel this statement is a overall guideline for us to understand that , since God is providing our food and other basic necessities and even all luxuries, so we must not burden ourselves with worries for such needs. We must trust God and his love for us . We need to enjoy and celebrate our existence more than anything else, as we  need to realise our status that we are the children of GOD : )

Even as i was writing this article, i got food from God : )

GOD HAS GIVEN US……

God has given us human birth. He is giving us countless breath as his blessings , but are we content? Remember, by not being content we are creating hell.

TALK ABOUT GOD : )

Bulla says “ There is nothing to talk about God, except God there is nothing else to talk about. ” :  )
